It seems as if almost everyone has a blog today. As an eternal optimist, I would venture to say that my attempt at blogging is to provide my perspective on events in the world and in my life. What a great place to vent, inspire, and be inspired!
I am a gay male living in a beautiful house in suburban Maryland, less than a mile from the Washington, DC border. My job is to lead and guide a local public elementary school.
I love to travel, and have had the opportunity to travel around the world. I have been throughout the United States, Europe, Central America, and Asia. For me, travel is not only a means of exploration, but an opportunity to renew a sense of appreciation for the wonders that exist beyond the front door of my home and strengthens my desire to learn more about people and cultures that are different than my own. Traveling oversees is a humbling experience, at best, particularly when the language is foreign and the residents of those countries go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I just wish visitors to the United States could feel the same! Of course, with anything, there are exceptions to the rule. Luckily, I have not had that type of experience…nothing but satisfaction in my travels.
I enjoy cooking, watching TV, going for a run, and a freshly brewed cup of coffee! Here come the stereotypes….I enjoy watching anything involving Martha Stewart, home improvement, crafting, and interior design. I hope that did not tip the ‘gay-scale’ too much! As Martha would say, “It’s a good thing!”
Welcome to my world and my view from the outside looking in!
