Party Time, Pinoy Style

So, it was a Sunday afternoon when I received a phone call from RC, a new friend I met at the Disney Marathon last weekend.  RC is a JVP batch mate with ES who met us at Disney with his wife and two daughters.  I was introduced to RC who, coincidentally, lives only 15 minutes away!  RC made the suggestion of getting together for dinner and I made the recommendation that we cook instead of going out…and so we did.

RC Checks the Adobo by you.

Together we made pork adobo and rice.  It was delish!  As the adobo cooked, we sipped on some wine and snacked on some cheese and hummus with pita.  And we sipped wine.  And, did I mention, sipping wine?  Two full bottles of wine later, what could possibly be next?  Yes, you guessed it, karaoke!

I hooked up the system to my new television and we spent the next few hours (yes, hours!) singing away…and did I mention sipping wine? :)

Glamour Shot by you.

So, this morning my voice is raw after belting out such fantastic tunes like Take on Me by Aha, We Didn’t Start the Fire by Billy Joel and the Italian classic Volare.  RC, on the other hand, chose much more difficult songs and ended his performance for the evening with Madonna’s Like a Virgin.

Fun times!  Good food, great conversation, really bad singing.  Sounds like a perfect way to celebrate the eve of the next president’s inauguration!
