The Day After

Here we are, the day after Christmas.  Doesn’t it feel great?  Luckily I am not surrounded by dropped tree needles and bundles of wrapping paper.  This year I got a little crafty and environmental with my tree…err, should I say ‘branch.’

Instead of buying a tree that would ultimately make its way to the curb a week or so from now, I took at walk in the backyard and grabbed what was once a thriving branch that had fallen.  I brought it in, trimmed it, and then decorated it.  Subtle, much more long-term than a tree, and very arts and craftsy.  Martha would be proud!  Met with mixed reaction, I like it.  Please, no Charlie Brown comments. ;)

Where is Charlie? by you.

I always wondered how “necessity is the mother of all invention” applied to me. Now I know! Hey, you can try it today and call it your Kwanzaa Tree! ;)
