This photo is a pleasant sight to see.

Yes, I know, shower tile.

But not just any ol’ shower tile..THE shower tile that has taken us a long time to locate and then finally get our hands on!  The first few attempts at choosing tiles for the bathroom went without much success since they had been discontinued at Home Depot even though they were ordered and paid for. Strange.

With that news, we had to select new tiles and the ones we found were all special order and very expensive.  What can I say, we have good taste!  A glass mosaic of 1×1 squares in various shades of blue…very nice.

After what was probably a month of no tile selection and with the contractor getting a bit frustrated without having anything to put in which held up the rest of the bathroom installation, T found these glass tiles online at such a drastic price difference (in our favor!) that we would have been foolish not to order them.  A few clicks of the keyboard and the tiles were ordered.  Yay!

The tiles arrived yesterday and were almost completely installed today.  They look great and the bathroom/laundry room should be fully finished by Friday of this week.  What began in July is now being finished and I am so excited to just get this over with and finally clean!

A funny thing comes to mind as I reflect on this whole experience.  One evening, T and I were talking about the bathroom renovations and making some observations about selections we had made.  Clearly exhausted from work, school, and this whole construction process, and realizing it had been months of tile selection, neither of us could remember which tiles we had chosen and ordered.  It was difficult to visualize the tiles and make other selections for the bathroom since it had been so long after we made the final choices and placed the order.  Looking back now, it is funny.  Ha Ha funny.  At the time it was a sign we were just having enough of it all.

Well, the wait is over and the work is finally in the home stretch.  I cannot wait to take the “after” pictures!

Now its time to choose the next project!!
