Suspendarama

Eight suspensions today. Many hours meeting and communicating with parents, beginning at 7:10am and ending close to 5:30pm this evening. Literally nonstop. It was a long day.
After work I decided to go out for drinks and dinner with a friend, and it was well worth it. What a great opportunity to talk about something other than work and just laugh and “be social” – something I really needed after today. I really needed to reach out and talk. Luckily I was able to do that. Sometimes the support you expected to get from one source ends up coming from another, unexpected source. Life is certainly full of surprises.
We had a nice meal and followed it up with some frozen yogurt from a new organic frozen yogurt place called Mr. Yogato. It was ok, nothing to write home about nor would I seek it out to have it again.
The nice thing was I was out and enjoying myself. Finally.
Now, back at home and reviewing my e-mail, I see another long work day ahead of me for tomorrow.
The joys of school leadership.
