After a successful half marathon last Sunday, T and I made our way back home to Cheverly and have begun the task of unpacking and finding space for all of our stuff around the house.  We made it back to the area just in time for me to make a 3pm meeting that officially announced my new role as school principal.  The teachers and staff took it well, not much crying and only a few gasps and heart clenches.  Just kidding, they knew it all along – they are very bright!  I wish our drive was a smooth as the meeting we barely were able to make!  A two hour delay on the George Washington Bridge that was preceded by a forty minute delay in Connecticut made the drive extra long.  Luckily we left early (T’s suggestion) and that allowed for us to use up any extra time we had on the journey.  As all things, it worked out in the end.

We also just contracted a crew to come in the house and demolish and remodel our main bathroom on the second floor and totally redesign a second full bathroom and laundry room in the basement.  I am so excited about the upcoming construction and last night we went out to look at some tile options.  I think we have an idea of what we want but now we are experiencing the fun challenge of trying to actually find it!  We ended up buying an ‘ideas book’ and will use that as inspiration and should provide a few photos for the contractor to use.  Yay!  Since we moved in a year ago, the bathroom was updated with new fixtures but now we are going to get new floor tiles, new walls, new wall tiles, new pipes behind the walls and everything in between!  Downstairs will be a total transformation that will provide an entirely finished basement that can be used as a guest suite or combination of any other uses.  Double yay!
