She Loves Me

I had a date tonight! Yes, it is true. Tonight I was treated to a surprise…T and I had an opportunity to go into Boston and see the comedy musical “She Loves Me” at the Boston University Theatre, also known as The Huntington Theatre. It was a surprise and I did not know he had gotten us tickets until a few hours before the show – isn’t that sweet?

We had seats in the second row, almost front and center. Unsure of how good the seats were going to be (sometimes too close is not good), once the show began we knew we were in the right spot to enjoy the performance. It was a beautiful story set in 1930’s era Budapest. Originally on Broadway in the 1960’s, She Loves Me did not really gain the respect and appreciation due until it was revived on Broadway in the 1990’s. This musical was also the inspiration for the feel-good movie “You Got Mail” with Tom Hanks. It was such a special night as we watched romance unfold on stage in often comical ways. In the end, love is found and plenty of happiness is shared all around.  Awww…

Afterwards we made our way over to Finale’s, a dessert place in Cambridge. T had a chocolate mousse and I had a caramel dessert with fresh fruit. We each had a hot chocolate and compared it to the hot chocolates we drank earlier in the day at a local chocolate shop…the chocolate shop won. Plenty of chocolate in our bellies (we are in training for a big run Sunday, you know!) we are now back in the apartment and slowly drifting off to sleep! Tomorrow is a busy day with shopping and laundry and a big pasta dinner as we prep our bodies and minds for Sunday’s big run…yay!
