Happy Mother’s Day!

08may11a.jpg

Today is Mother’s Day and I want to take this opportunity to wish all moms a happy and healthy day. It has been some time since my mother has passed and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her.

As this day is marked on our calendars to recognize the gift of mothers in our lives, let this be the beginning of a celebration each and every day for without them we would not exist.

Thank you, Mrs. S (T’s mom), for bringing your son into this world and forever changing my life. I know how much you mean to him (and he to you) and the hospitality and care you have shown me during the times we spent together is a clear sign of how special a person you are. I hope you enjoy your special day!

And to all other moms who visit this blog and read this greeting, I wish you the same – a truly wonderful celebration on this 11th day of May, 2008…

A special “shout out” goes to our first-time celebrators of Mother’s Day…our friends M, N, and C who brought Alex, Tyler, and Carmela into this world…in that order…yay! This is Picasso’s painting of “Mother and Child” that currently hangs in the Harvard Museum of Art. I saw it yesterday and I was making my way through the museum and thought how appropriate it was for it to strike me the way it did…I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
