Sunday, Boring Sunday

And I like it like that. At least for today. The last week or so has been very busy both at home and at work so today’s opportunity to start with pancakes and a run was welcomed. This coming week is set to be another busy time at work, travels wot Atlantic City to give a presentation, making my way to Cambridge to spend time with T and his dad, and then back to Cheverly only to do it again a week later for Boston’s Run to Remember, a half marathon we are running together.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining. I enjoy keeping busy. When a day like today rolls around where I can take advantage of the opportunity of some down time, I will take advantage of it! Sure there are always house projects to be done but I would rather not spend every moment of the day doing something. The weather is nice so I went for a long run this morning and took in some sun and cool breezes. The forecasted rain never arrived so the front lawn is neatly manicured after yesterday’s hard work in the heat. My presentation for this coming week is done and packed in my bag already! Later tonight I will begin packing clothes for the eight days I will be away from our house in Maryland.
What will I do today? Well, I’ll tell you what I’ve already done…I finished the book “The Kid” by Dan Savage. A very funny book about the adventure/journey/struggle/excitement he and his partner experienced as they adopted a child. As a gay man involved in adopting with his partner, I found the insight and perspective captivating and occasionally emotional…but, then again, when am I not emotional? I just wanted to document the completion of this book after one week of starting it as some out there might have thought it would have taken me a year or so to complete it.
The rest of the day? Well, I will eventually leave the house and take a walk around the town this afternoon. As I ran this morning I noticed the beautiful blooming that is going on around town and would love to snap a photo or two if I can. Here is a photo from our front lawn. Isn’t the color stunning? Here are some other photos I took today.
