Moviethon

It is Sunday. It is raining. It is chilly outside. What to do on a day like this? Well, watch lots of movies, of course! Today is going to be a relaxing day for me complete with a romantic comedy marathon on cable, freshly brewed coffee, a comfortable throw wrapped around my legs, and a recliner. What more can you want? This first movie scheduled to start at 10am will end around lunch time (perfect!) and after a brief break another one will resume. How bad can that be. Later in the day I am going to make some freshly popped popcorn and take these movies into the evening! I will be accompanied throughout the day by my friends magazine and laptop since I still have some work to do during commercial breaks but will try not to work too hard today. I am in the mood for a movie or two, or six.
What movies are showing today, you may ask? Well, wonder no more. The starting line up for today’s moviethon is as follows: Miss Congeniality, Cake, Lucky 7, I Do (But I Don’t), and Love Notes. That should take me until 8pm. Then I will pop in a DVD from my own collection and wrap the night up that way. Why not! Yes, these movies are playing one after the other and all on the network Lifetime, self proclaimed as “television for women” (and gay men). A tissue box is handy just in case and no promises will be made that there will be dry eyes in the living room through the day…especially during Miss Congeniality. Boy, did I cry the first time I saw that feel-good movie of the year.
The only thing missing is a movie starring Valerie Bertinelli or Meredith Baxter…that would complete the day.
